Our story

Italian anginetti cookies with rainbow sprinkles on a decorative plate

We're Sunday Tavola. An Italian cookie brand that's uniting people by way of the Italian-American family experience.

Our story starts in our grandmother's kitchen.

Growing up, our grandma, Eva, an Italian immigrant from Abruzzo, Italy who lived directly across the street from us, made homemade pastas, breads, soups, and of course, cookies. Her house, built by our grandfather, was the gathering place for family, friends and "company." Her garden nourished our bellies, and her kitchen counter was where the magic happened.

At the center of most dinners, family gatherings and events were her anginetti (ahn-jih-NET-ee) cookies, also known as Italian wedding cookies––soft, cake-like treats with a lemony frosting and sprinkled with rainbow nonpareils.

Standing in her kitchen, intoxicated by the smell from the oven, dipping the pillowy cookies into the lemony frosting and shaking the sprinkle container until they were amply coated, those are our sweetest memories.

So many Italian-Americans grew up eating these cookies made by their grandparents or great aunts and uncles, and now we're excited to bring these family classics to your table — whether they're a homecoming or a first introduction.

Sunday Tavola is about sharing in life's experiences and memories, breaking bread together, and adding more chairs to the dinner table. There's always room for more.

Pull up a chair, sip an espresso, stay awhile. We’re enjoying together.
